A Rustic Guest Bath
Having a beautiful guest bathroom is important if you like to entertain. My guest bathroom was out of date and downright embarrassing. The builder of our house was either color blind, or a complete idiot that didn’t know that red floor tile and cobalt blue tile on the vanity looks ridiculous. The bathroom vanity was made of the same poor quality cabinetry that the builder had installed in our kitchen. It was in a bit better condition, but still, it had to go.

If you’re like me, you love a good murder-mystery, the suspense, the drama and of course that twist at the end, we never saw coming. Jean Marie Stanberry, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors has just submitted her latest work to our editors at Kingsmuir Press and I am certain our readers are going to love it. Doug Bellamy and his partner Chris Salazar are anxious to solve this heinous crime before the grisly details of Sabine’s murder leak out to the public. Unfortunately Sabine’s family is not helpful at all and they have found very little physical evidence. Their frustrations peak when they realize that the crime scene has been tampered with.
As Bellamy’s investigation delves into Sabine’s dysfunctional family and sordid past, it is becoming quite evident that Sabine Rousseau was not the elegant lady she had portrayed to her fans for so many years. Has Sabine’s hidden past finally come back to haunt her?
Shortly after their investigation begins, Bellamy becomes frustrated. Not only is their case hitting one roadblock after another, but his marriage seems to be disintegrating as well. “Blood, Sweat and Fears” is an adventure of sorts. It follows the life of a young figure skater Jenna Bruce. Jenna seems to be set up for failure by her own parents when she is shipped off to Paris to skate in an ice show, all the while masquerading as an adult when really she is a minor, just 15 years old.
When Alexander, a Russian co-worker with his own agenda begins sexually harassing her, no one in the company takes it seriously. Jenna is forced to work side by side with a man she eventually begins to fear, in the meantime all the while he has infiltrated the rest of the cast with lies and everyone there is soon convinced they are lovers.
No one can anticipate how quickly Alexander’s passion will deteriorate into obsession and his desperation will escalate into a grim web of deception and violence.

DIY Adventures-Refacing a fireplace
Anyone who knows me, knows that when my husband and I have a project, we will at the very least, attempt to do it ourselves. After a bit of trial and error we do know our limits. For instance, we try to avoid large concrete projects and my husband Gary is not allowed to paint. Other than that, we will try just about anything at least once.
Our latest project involved refacing our fireplace. We built the fireplace when we moved into the house almost ten years ago. It is a gas fireplace and it was meant to augment our aging heating system and conserve space over the home’s previous heat source, a large and unwieldy wood stove which was not only dirty, but because of allergies, I had bronchitis most of that winter.
