Book Excerpt-“Heartless-A Star is Dead”

Kingsmuir Press is very excited and proud to announce that Jean Marie Stanberry’s newest novel, a murder mystery, will soon be available for purchase as a paperback and on all major e-readers.  Jean’s newest work, “Heartless-A Star is Dead” will be available on February 14, 2015 at Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com and select, privately owned bookstores in the US, Canada and GB, with expanded distribution in bookstores throughout Europe on March 1.  As always, our books are available worldwide through Amazon.com and it’s affiliates.

I am naturally quite excited that Jean has tried her hand in the murder-mystery genre, as it is one of my personal favorites and Jean is quite the seasoned professional with character development and that last minute twist no one expected.  Below I have attached an except from her first chapter, just to get you in the spirit.  Then on Valentines day, you can finally find out who is responsible for Sabine’s fate. New Murder-Mystery on the horizon

If you’re like me, you love a good murder-mystery, the suspense, the drama and of course that twist at the end, we never saw coming.  Jean Marie Stanberry, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors has just submitted her latest work to our editors at Kingsmuir Press and I am certain our readers are going to love it.  This book is full of intrigue and quirky characters and I literally couldn’t put it down till the end.  Jean’s new book is definitely everything I look for in a good murder-mystery.  Here is a short synopsis of the book you absolutely must read, coming on February 14, 2015.

When aging movie star Sabine Rousseau is found murdered in her own home, it’s a very disturbing scene.  The crime itself is not only horrendous, but obviously deeply personal for the person who’s taken Sabine’s life.  Doug Bellamy and his partner Chris Salazar are anxious to solve this heinous crime before the grisly details of Sabine’s murder leak out to the public.  Unfortunately Sabine’s family is not helpful at all and they have found very little physical evidence.  Their frustrations peak when they realize that the crime scene has been tampered with.

As Bellamy’s investigation delves into Sabine’s dysfunctional family and sordid past, it is becoming quite evident that Sabine Rousseau was not the elegant lady she had portrayed to her fans for so many years.  Has Sabine’s hidden past finally come back to haunt her?

Shortly after their investigation begins, Bellamy becomes frustrated.  Not only is their case hitting one roadblock after another, but his marriage seems to be disintegrating as well.  Finally, a break in the case brings new hope, but also a renewed fear that the suspect hasn’t finished their bloody rampage yet.  Soon Bellamy finds himself on a race across the country to apprehend this suspect before another victim can be claimed.

Here’s your wakeup call!

Racial turmoil seems to be simmering again in the US as of late.  I put the blame squarely on the media and the way they slant the stories in a way that will incite the most emotion from their audience.  Add to that, celebrities and civil rights activists jumping on the bandwagon and what you have is a powder keg of hatred, ready to explode. New Years Resolution, Read More Books!

Make your brain happy, reward it by reading more books this year.  Notebooks and e-readers can hold hundreds of books and magazines to have at your disposal.  The new Kindle Fire serves double duty as a full featured tablet and an e-reader, while the Kindle Paperwhite is an excellent tool for the avid reader as you need no book light and it is easy to read in bright sunlight, making it a hit at the beach.

Looking for a great read?  My two recent favorite books are “The Illusion of Order” by Jean Marie Stanberry and “An Imperfect World” by Lyoness Bradley.  Both available on Amazon.com and all major e-readers.  We have a whole host of wonderful books due to hit bookshelves later this winter, keep your eyes on our page for details.

Happy birthday!

Wishing a very happy birthday to one of our wonderful Kingsmuir Press authors, Jean Marie Stanberry.  Our Montana based friend tells us she is taking a much deserved day off of work today to chill with family and go out for dinner tonight.  When she says chill out, she really means it, when we spoke with her this morning, the temperature at her house was -5 degrees.  BRRRRR!

You can make Jean’s birthday sweet by checking out her website at jeanstanberry.com . You can also purchase one of her four books available on Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.com. available as e-books or paperback.  For romance lovers check out “Laying Low In Hollywood” or “The Illusion of Order”.  Science fiction buffs will love the political satire in “One World United”.  Action and drama fans will appreciate “Blood, Sweat and Fears”.

A Kitchen Remodel on a Tight Budget

I love watching shows on HGTV and seeing photos online of other people’s kitchen remodels. Most of them are not only functional but beautiful as well, but as you probably know, all that beauty comes with a huge price tag. I personally, don’t have upwards of $30,000 to plunk down on a kitchen remodel and I doubt you do either, otherwise why would you be reading this article?

Here’s what the masses don’t want you to know. Your kitchen remodel can be done for less, way less. The key is, you have to be willing to think outside the box a little bit and you must be willing to do much of the work yourself. Think of labor as the most expensive part of your remodel, the more you can do yourself the better. Continue reading A Kitchen Remodel on a Tight Budget

Book Excerpt-An Imperfect World by Lyoness Bradley

The year is 1978 and Court Ordered School desegregation doesn’t sound like such a big deal to 17 year old Leigh Webster, but then again maybe she is just too young to realize the social and political firestorm that is just igniting in her community.

Leigh’s relatively sheltered life with extremely overbearing parents is about to take a radical turn. When Leigh meets attractive and smart desegregation student Chris Logan, she is attracted to him right away, but with social tensions running high, can they risk a relationship? A touching story about love, hate and every emotion in between.  Continue reading Book Excerpt-An Imperfect World by Lyoness Bradley

Respect

How do you feel about respect?  When did this basic courtesy seemingly disappear from the once great, United States of America?  It pains me to read news articles lately because the media has taken this lack of respect that is running rampant in our country and made it all about race.  I’m sorry, I know you think it’s all about you, but really it’s not, everyone is suffering from this latest epidemic and I think our shift in values away from families in the US has caused it.
